Sheraton Chandigarh Hotel |

Hotel giant Starwood Hotels and Resorts will manage the new Sheraton hotel in The Beautiful City of Chandigarh. Scheduled to open in 2012, the new-build Sheraton Chandigarh Hotel underscores the brands steady growth in India. The hotel will offer 177 rooms, five restaurants, a health club, a full-service Nectar Spa, swimming pool, business center and more than 15,000 square feet of meeting space.

Accor Adds Portfolio in China |

Accor has signed a management contract for a new Sofitel in China, Guangdong Sunrich Groups latest hotel property, the Sofitel Guangzhou Sunrich. Located at the heart of Guangzhous Tianhe central business district, the Sofitel Guangzhou Sunrich is easily accessible as it is within walking distance from the main metro lines and a short drive away from Guangzhou East Railway Station. It is expected to open at the end of 2010. |

Doubletree Enters Middle East |
|
The Doubletree by Hilton brand will enter the Middle East in the first quarter of 2010 when the Doubletree Suites by Hilton Ras Al Khaimah opens in the United Arab Emirates. Hilton Hotels Corporation signed a management agreement on the hotel, which is expected to have 112 apartments, with Mohamed Ahmed Ali Hassan Ruqait. |

Worlds Spiciest Foods |

Forbes Travelller recently came out with their list of Worlds Spiciest Foods and topping the list is Indias Phall (Phaal) Curry. Originating in Southern India, this dish combines at least 10 different peppers into a single, thick curry dish and its distinct spicy kick comes from a core ingredient, the Bhut jolokia chili pepper, which has been confirmed by the Guinness World Records as the most potent pepper on earth. Also in the list is Chicagos Hot Suicide Wings, Jamaicas Caribbean Jerk Chicken, Thailands Nuea Pad Prik, Chinas Hot Pot (Sichuan Province), Africas Frango Piri Piri and others. |
